Two Months Have Flown By

2 months have come and gone so quickly. Ayla will be 2 months old this Thursday. She is sleeping longer and longer at night and a lot less during the day. She'll go several hours now without sleeping, which means she requires more and more attention. She is smiling and cooing more every day, and it is now becoming more obvious that she means it. :=] She most definitely prefers to be held. I can't say I blame her... being held and walking around with someone is far more interesting than her swing or bouncy chair, and it's definitely loads more fun than being on the floor. Today, while attempting to run a few errands, I had to pull the car over 4 times to take her out and soothe her. I tried to let her scream, but when she would lose her breath and then whimper in between the sobbing, I couldn't stand it any longer. It's amazing how fast she can quit screaming when she knows she's about to be picked up. They say you can't spoil a baby before 6 months of age, so I'm going with that theory. I figure there will be a day (too soon) when she'll be too busy to let me hold her. I cherish these moments!!

This weekend Brett went to Biloxi with Justin and Bo, a good friend from church. I'd made plans to go out Saturday night with Sarah and another friend of ours to celebrate their birthdays. With plenty of milk on hand, a few burp cloths, and lots of courage Brett kept Ayla for the evening. When I got home she was asleep and he was on the couch. Brett said she cried for several hours and that both of them were worn out. I assured him that it would get easier...and that eventually he'd be able to better figure out what she wanted and needed. He survived and so did she... and that's most important. :+] I'm proud of both of them.

Below, I have added quite a few pictures that begin from when she was a day old until the last picture I took of her on Sunday. You can see how much she's changed, and how full she's gotten. She sure does love to eat. Eating is something she does well and takes it seriously! She's got adorable fat rolls on her legs, arms, and around her chin! They are almost edible! :+} The captions follow the pictures.
